Week of March 14 – 18, 2016

Objective: Students will be taking the Automobile Ownership Unit test on Monday, March 21 or Tuesday, March 22, 2016.  We will review the Practice Test the first part of the period, and take the test the second part.

Assignment: Complete the Automobile Ownership Practice Test and any missing assignments from Chapter 5.  You will be turning these in for credit before the test next week.

March 9 and 10, 2016

Objective: Students learned how to use data to evaluate fuel efficiency, safe travel distance, and accident investigation data analysis.

Read pages 259-264, 268-271 and 274-278 in Financial Algebra , Sections 5-7, 5-8, 5-9. Write all definitions in your composition notebook.

Assignment: Financial Algebra p. 265-266 Problems 2, 7, 8, 12; p. 272-273 Problems 7,9 and 10; p. 279 Problems 2, 3, 5, 7, 14

March 7 and 8, 2016

Objective:  Students calculate straight line and exponential depreciation for cars by writing equations and solving for the variables using their textbook examples and calculators for support.

Read pages 245 – 249 and 252 – 256 in the text, Sections 5-5 and 5-6, Automobile depreciation.  Write all definitions in your composition notebook.

Assignment: Pg. 250 #2,3,4 and Pg. 257 #2,3,4,9 and 15.

March 1 and 2, 2016

Objective:   Students will understand the abbreviations for car ads to be able to interpret an ad.  Students will compute, in writing mean, median, mode and IQR to be able to interpret data about salaries and car prices.

Assignment:  Read pages 216 – 218 and  224 – 228.   Work problems on pages 229-230 # 2-5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15
